BBQ Burnt End Beans

BBQ Burnt End Beans

This is the ultimate comfort food, two fan favorites in one!

If you've been BBQ-ing for pretty much any length of time I'll assume you have a great recipe for burnt ends which is why I didn't include that part in this recipe (People get pretty crazy about those burnt ends...), but if you're in search of one have no fear we will be posting ours soon!

For this recipe, I took one of my favorite baked bean recipes and modified it a bit!

Ingredients:

4 Jalapenos (Feel free to adjust this to taste)

3 cups of pinto beans

3 cloves of garlic (I normally add like 6, but, some do not like as much garlic as I do)

1 1/2 cups of burnt ends (In accordance with your own recipe)

1 1/2 cups of Awesome Sauce

1 (28 oz) can of crushed tomatoes

Salt

Black pepper

How to:

-Soak beans in water overnight then drain

-Stem and seed jalapenos then roughly chop along with your garlic cloves

-In a pot add 4 cups of water and your beans then bring to a boil. Once at a boil reduce heat to simmer

-Allow to simmer until beans are tender then add your jalapenos, garlic, Awesome Sauce, crushed tomatoes, salt, and pepper. Let simmer for another 25-30 minutes.

-Remove from heat

- Serve and enjoy!

Optional:

Sometimes I like to have more of a traditional baked bean taste when I make this, if I do I'll add 1/4 cup of molasses and 1/4 cup of brown sugar! I also normally end up dicing an onion and green pepper and adding it in for a bit more pizzaz but if you want just the simple version or have allergies, leave it be!

Want to add some smoke? Cook in a Dutch oven in your smoker!

Also really enjoy serving this with cornbread!

I sure hope you enjoy this easy combination of comfort classics! With fall on the horizon, it's a great time to think of warm recipes to turn to!
