Smoker and oversized packages: Shipping Policy

Your Smoker will be shipping FOB 04095. FOB stands for “free on board” or “freight on board” and is a designation that is used to indicate when liability and ownership of goods is transferred from a seller to a buyer.

Lead Times and Delivery Times:

Humphrey's BBQ Inc, will do their best to meet the quoted shipping lead time (when the smoker leaves Humphrey's). There maybe times due to circumstances beyond our control that we may not be able to meet these lead times. We will then contact you to discuss this if this should occur. Delivery and transit times are approximate and determined by the shipping and freight companies. Humphrey's BBQ, Inc is not responsible for setting up delivery appointments. Delays are possible for many reasons such as inclement weather, Covid-19, Employee Shortages, Material Shortages to name a few. Humphrey's has no control on delivery transit times or appointment day and times. If you should need us to call your local terminal on your behalf, please lets us know. We can help you with this process.

Freight and Damaged Goods:

We take every precaution to ensure your item arrives to you in pristine condition, however, in the event your item arrives damaged, it is important that you note it on the Bill of Lading before signing it. You must then call or email us immediately, as time is of importance in filing a claim: 207-793-2598 or info@humphreysbbq.com. If the driver doesn't allow you enough time to inspect the shipment, please note on the Bill of Lading "Subject to Further Inspection for Concealed Damage". There are times that the driver may not let you write this on the BOL if the outside of the crate is in good condition. If that is the case, please take pictures of the crate prior to uncrating it, in case there is concealed damage.

If the item is damaged beyond repair, refuse the shipment and DO NOT SIGN ANYTHING. Once it is back at our facility, we will either repair it or replace it. It is extremely important that any damage is noted on the Bill of Lading at delivery, otherwise this virtually eliminates any recourse with the carrier for a claim. If you choose to accept the freight, you will be responsible for filing any claims with the freight company for damage reimbursement. We will not be responsible for damaged items that are not noted on the BOL. By signing the proof of delivery, you accept ownership of the property in its current condition.

There may be times that the freight company/driver will not let you sign. This is a new policy since Covid-19. If there is visible damage, please ask the driver to note it on the BOL on your behalf. As you uncrate the smoker, if you see any concealed damage, please document it with pictures and email those directly to info@humphreysbbq.com.

All Freight shipments will require access for a semi-truck and trailer to deliver. If you live in a limited access area or outside of the delivery area, it may be necessary to pick your product up at the nearest freight terminal. We will not be responsible for additional fees or compensate for deliveries in these areas. If this is a concern in your area, your sales representative will be glad to discuss this with you before the item is purchased.

Often times, the main carrier will hand off the shipment to a local carrier.  A truck with a different name from the tracking info,  maybe the one delivering your smoker.

Residential deliveries will include lift gate service, this platform is installed at the rear of the truck to expedite the process of unloading your package. The driver will take your delivery off the truck for you, but it is your responsibility to bring it onto your property. Some Local Terminals are not scheduling delivery appointment or allow contact with signing the BOL because of COVID. Please take a picture of the crate prior to unpacking. If your driver will not allow you to sign the BOL or add Possible Concealed Damage, Take Pictures of the outside of the crate. If concealed damage occurred please document it with pictures and send those to info@humphreybbq.com

Once your order has shipped with will contact you with a reminder what to do when your smoker arrives along with a tracking number..
